Jivan »up there«
»Jivan« narrates the passion of 13-year-old Jivan. Water as violence, water as mechanics; a futurist bathtub as an amniotic sac, the intensities of light. Jivan opens up his eyes. He folds his felt and steps into the open. "When Mike Meiré came up with the question of how to visualize his Energetic Recovery System - a kind of personal wellness church, structured as a car wash - I always had in mind to transfer it to the hermetic world of a boy, who enjoys water in public space, but is on his very own trip, his daydreaming, glittery ritual" (Marc Comes). The film, shot and directed by Marc Comes, was part of a Dornbracht culture project by Mike Meiré / NEONOTO and was first projected in the Gallery Fiedler, Cologne 2002. »Jivan« won the Werkleitz Award 2003 at the European Media Art Festival in Osnabrück and was elected into the permanent collection (since 1994) of experimental videoworks of the Goethe Institut in 2004.
